The attractive and affordable Opel Corsa delivers low running costs thanks to its efficient engine options. It’s easy to drive too, and boasts plenty of standard-issue equipment – and due to its compact dimensions, it’s an ideal city cruiser. There are five trim levels to choose from, starting with the well-specified SC and finishing with the fully loaded Elite – which is also available in eco-friendly, super-economical all-electric form.

The Corsa certainly looks the part, riding on minimum-size 16-inch eight-spoke alloy wheels. Once you’ve made your final trim selection, all that remains is to choose the colour. If you fancy going with something cool and classy, Summit White or Diamond Black more than fit the bill. Entry-level SC grades are supplied with a seven-inch colour touchscreen with which you can mirror your smartphone using Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. All models feature a six-speaker sound system, including an AM/FM tuner, DAB radio, AUX and USB inputs and Bluetooth connectivity. Next-tier SRi trims add navigation functionality, while top-level Elite grades feature a 10-inch touchscreen that boasts HD graphics.
Elite EV
Go all-electric with the Opel Elite EV, which is powered by a 134bhp electric motor, delivering 0-100km/h in a shade more than eight seconds and a top speed of 150km/h. Naturally, the Elite EV also produces zero CO2 emissions while offering a 337-kilometre range. The car’s 50kWh battery can be charged at home or at work using a domestic power supply, or by accessing one of 1,350 public charge points located around Ireland. And for added peace of mind, the battery is covered by an eight-year warranty.
